Hi, ba... She called again a few minutes ago. This time on purpose. She talked to the two younger kids about their Christmas presents (at least from the end I could hear). Then she talked to me for a couple minutes. I told her that her gift choices had been a hit, and she said she'd had fun doing the shopping. Talked a little bit about some of the stuff going on up there, they talked themselves into a lab for a blood draw for her brother, two minutes before they closed (actually they already had) for lunch. It sounded like they were on the edge of getting upset, but stayed just nice enough to get in.
You know, your idea of not being where he 'expects' you to be sometime might not be a bad one at all. I get the feeling he thinks he is controlling what's going on, and that you will just be there, if he wants, when he wants, no matter what. I think disabusing him of that notion would be smart.
I think you are right about the kids. There is less tension. And I'm less strict, though I do think I get to the same place in the end. We've just got different means. And of course, mine are wrong!
Science fair projects... S13 is trying to show that the music you are listening to effects exercise by measuring the time it takes to walk around the block listening to different music. I think I am going to steer S10 into doing something with erosion or weathering. I'm an engineer, I like science. I can't stand science fair projects!
New Year's Eve? When's that? I imagine that one or both of the older boys will be out. Probably doing things I don't want to know about with people I don't know! A story that I haven't told anywhere. Earlier this fall, I got in my car, and was driving to work. I flipped the sun visor down to find a condom wrapper! They've both used the car at times, so I have o idea. Or, since the car was relatively new to me, maybe I hadn't flipped it down before (Though I really don't think so). I guess the good thing was that there was a condom wrapper, huh? What happened to my babies? The younger two and I will probably hang out, have ice cream and brownies, play video games, and make a mess of the house with poppers at midnight! Come on down!
