H calls last week and says he has messed up and wants to get back together. I must tell you that at this point I am the one saying no. ... I just don't think I want my life back like it was anymore.
Good for you, Amy! Your old life together with him, was truely miserable. You should never go back to the way things were between you.
I hope that, if someday, he gets his head on straight, and can show you in a way that is meaningful to you, that you will look at him with fresh eyes, and be able to see him as he is, rather than who he used to be.
But for right now... a week(?) out of psych hospital... it's pretty unlikely he's in that state yet.
