E, I don't understand why you brought an R talk in the 1st few minutes you were together and why you keep talking negative stuff like 'our last Christmas', etc.

What are you trying to accomplish?

Then Dry realized the error and I made a joke (lame) that if E was in LA, CA the idea of hanging out with the X would be normal.

Recently, I had this happen. I was with two friends at a film. My girlfriend was the 2nd wife (her 1st H) of this man J. The other friend with us was J's 3rd wife(she's been married and Divorced again since). As we waited J's 4th wife and his kids arrived. Then J arrived with his current girlfriend. The 4th wife laughed and said gee if only the 1st wife was here we could have a reunion.

I'm glad you followed it, short! My head hurts, and I haven't been drinking! Perhaps I should be!

So, pal comes through to get things on track!

I don't drink much, not enough to do any good!

You have those talks because you want to know! It takes a lot of time to get to the point where you internalize that they don't mean anything, anyway. That's my theory.

Actually, they do mean something. Generally, it means they haven't changed their minds.

I thought they usually didn't know. Though that could be the same thing.

Then unless there has been some major change why have that conversation? Why bring it up and keep on the front burner with the heat on high?
If I ask the same question and get the same answer every time I ask and I don't like what I hear then I should quit asking.
