I'm moving this over here to your thread... BF's is getting all kinds of convoluted...

However, I don't think that I need to self-protect in the manner you describe. I'm perfectly content to f*ck up a few potentially great relationships if necessary. I might even discover some new animals for my zoo along the way. I sure as sh*t do need to get that lioness in shape. I've got some definite boundary forming issues around financial and related matters due to my FOO. I'm sure you can relate.
I guess I don't necessarily see the Lioness as the great protector... though it certainly can involve protection. I see the Lioness as being the one who just 'gets it done.' No matter what the 'get it done' may involve.
I think, probably because of my shrink... my Lioness has been... uh... retrained? And it took lots of practice to move his theory into reliable action... and then to an intuitive level... to know that those instincts are there for a dam good REASON, and I had best listen and respond... NOW.
My Lioness is still not a full capacity, as my... bunny has a way of making her pause. head shake. OR... she doesn't listen enough. Tough balancing thingy there.
In your case, I think a lot of times... in absence of your bunny or Lioness stepping up, your monkey comes in and saves the day... cuz... you've been left with a pound of rotten lemons. Your Lioness turns up her nose, the bunny has no inclination to use poor ingredients to make lemonade... so the monkey says... 'hey... let's throw them and see how they splat against the wall... that could be fun!!'
Seems rather healthy to me, actually.
But in any event... I'm saying to get your Lioness in shape, not so much because you have loose ends to tie up, but because a Lioness in top form bolsters the bunny and the monkey and gives the cow a much needed rest. BALANCE.
So you get her in shape for the next time you head back out into the jungle... your instinct guides you. All your senses are more honed... and when that happens, the BUNKY can play til her heart's content... even after the street lights come on, without fear for her safety... or the lure of men with candy and warm cars.
