Depriving you of Christmas with the kids (and them of Christmas with you) seems a bit overboard to me. Even if you were divorced, chances are you'd figure out a way for the kids to have Christmas with each parent.

We already had the plane tickets to Florida. She was dealing with the after shock of my "great" news and wanted time away from me. I'm respecting her terms and giving her the space she is asking for.
No I'm not going to call. She asked me to give her a few days to think things through and she would call me. I have talked to the girls. To make it easier on them to understand, I left it as "Daddy has to work, or he would be there" Wrong?...yes, but they're 5 and 3...not quite prepared for the truth yet.
