ROTFLMAO- I think it was Stigmata who said he used the code "I am not a nice guy." which also falls under the category you describe if you think you know better.
Of course, the guy you REALLY want to avoid is the one who says he has a puppy (or some candy in his car) but doesn't. Actually, now that I think about it anybody who would say that he didn't have a puppy would actually have to have a puppy somewhere unless he was a very stupid psychopath.
It's a wash, because they both end up eaten. The girl falling victim to the guy in your example can at least say she was deceived.
