Alrighty - finally time for an update!

(that STILL looks funny to me, I keep feeling like I'm accidentally posting TO my H)

Anyway... um dance in front of people without extreme pressure from my instructor? I don't think so!!

Good advice on the smiling, it helps a lot.

How fun!! It's kinda funny actually, people have this image of bellydancing as something really risque or practically stripper-ish and it's SO not. It was originally a dance done by and for women specifically to help get their abdominal and back muscles ready for child birth... men weren't even supposed to watch it!

Now that I've done it it's kinda funny, I spend more time watching the movements and trying to figure out the "how to" far more than even seeing how the dance overall looks (eventually I assume you must get back to the overall "look" so you can put a dance together).

haha next career? Ohh I don't think so!! It's fun but I am just NOT a natural dancer whatsoever.

You didn't try it?? Awww too bad! It's fun. Actually it's easier to get up with total strangers who have no idea what they're doing either... it was tougher getting up in front of my mom and a friend!

Thanks!!

Ohh yeah, need to work on letting things go - especially stuff that's totally not in my control and/or not my fault. Maybe we can make a pact to work on that together!

Thank you! Agreed, I really shouldn't talk to my dad about it. Made the mistake of opening up too much to my mom tonight too when she wanted to know Christmas plans.. uugh. Good news was I caught things getting out of control this time before they got bad - so I just said "Hey I can't talk to you about this anymore, I can see it's not headed a good direction." Worked pretty well.. in the past it got to the point of me practically in tears or yelling and Mom was furious with H or frustrated with me. Hey.. did I just set and enforce a (dare I say it) BOUNDARY??? Woo hoo!!

Doing pretty good here. Finally got the tree up (waiting for ornaments but hey, it's progress). Stockings are up... mantle decorated.. it really is nice having all that done. Shopping is almost done and final list is ready - and I even have stuff wrapped, yay!! Felt good to get all that done.

I have this totally cheesy tree that my great-great-grandparents left to me when I was a little girl. It's made out of egg cartons and glitter, and some lights that are ancient (can't believe they still work!). But I set it up tonight along with the letter that they sent when they gave it to me (I was only 3) - I just love it!!! I can stare at it for hours. Funny enough in the letter they say that's why they gave it to me - because I'd just stare at it when I was a baby. Kinda neat memory, and a tradition that's all "mine" and always will be. For some reason that meant a lot more to me than usual this year.

Work is killing me again this week but not AS bad as last week and should ease up by Friday..whew, thank goodness.

Gotta run for tonight... but thanks again!!
