About trust, you had some reasons to protect yourself, she had let everyone but you know about how she felt, she also violated your trust. Anyways, it can be regained, it can be rebuilt, it is not all hopeless, it will just take time. I hope that you are able to reconnect with her during IM chats, just remember that everyone has their own timeline, keep your expectations low, dont' loose hope, just dont' expect her to be at your same "level", we all hear differently, the fact that you feel ready to trust her doesnt' mean automatically that she is ready too.
