Hangin' in there Saffie. It's tough though. After 20 years of flying in the military I've been scared lots of times, but not like this. It's the loneliest feeling in the world. Just when you think you've hit the floor, you find another ten flights of stairs to fall.

Nope, never had the opportunity. My theater of operations was the Pacific -- Alaska, Hawaii, Guam, Australia, but never once set foot in Europe. I did work with a lot of RAF folks though...every one of them a standup guy.

I never said that a man and woman can not be friends. What I said was deep friendship is not really possible. I have lots of women friends. They are out in the open. But I NEVER talk to them about intimate things. There is nothing in my converstaions with them that would bother my wife. But if a woman and a man have conversrtaions that they would feel uncomfortable having with their spouses present, this is a big warning flag that the conversations are not about friendship, but are starting to fill "NEEDS", and filling needs is on the slippery slope to an EA.
I was brought up in East Anglia, close to Alconbury Airbase.
I also used to babysit when I was a teenager for the guy who at the time was in charge of the Red Arrows. His little boy was so proud. If they ever flew with 10 in the formation it meant his dad was flying as well.
You got to go to the more exotic places!!!!!!!
