Hmmmmmm, 18 - 22 in college. Is 36 old enough to be the creepy guy in the corner or young enough to be the worldly-wise older man for that age group? The answer could affect my plans for the weekend

Most of the girls/women from my lindy hop dance nights guess that I'm 23-25, so that certainly helps me stay in the realm of college girls, I suppose.
Also, gentlemen: next time you're in a Macy's go to the cologne/perfume dept and ask to smell "Chrome". I've been wearing it for the better part of this year and I can't even tell you how many women (and a few guys, too) have commented on how good it smells. About a month ago I had a girl at a local coffee bar remember what I ordered on the second time I'd been in there simply by my smell!
Remember: "Chrome". Ladies, you check it out too and tell us what you think.
yes it is a big deal! a cologne can conjour up all sorts of emotions and memories from just the smell.Sounds strange but i bet you can smell your best memories? think about it... the waft of the sea, garlic bread and olives in Greece? for me florida, i remember the smell of donuts in the morning, reminds me of the wife being pregnant and being happy.
They key is wear something different from everyone else. You dont want to be in a bar wearing Aqua di gio or joop. everyone else wears it, and will probably remind a lady of an ex.
I wear creed silver mountain water, or Green irish tweed. They smell really good! not many people wear them (or afford them! lol)you can buy decants off ebay. If you really want to know about colognes, the second best website on the net after this one is http://www.basenotes.net their community forum is great!
To db ing, I know my wife says to my daughter when she goes home from my house, "you smell of daddy, mmmm" my daughter told me. I always wear cologne. My D6 also wanted me to spray her teddy in Silver mountain water for when she cuddles it at night.
Buy a niche cologne, something from a niche house. Like creed, Miller harris, Dyptique, taylors of bond street. All available in the usa from the net. Some from $60. but very rarely used. any questions ask! or visit basenotes forum. I am markinlondon on there!

Thanks for the reinforcement, anne. I'm the only guy I know in my area that wears or has even heard of Chrome, so it's a pretty safe bet IMHO -- though I did have a woman ask me what the name of my cologne was so she could buy it for her husband for his b-day.
And, though I'm not a lady, I think Mark is right that wearing cologne does make a difference. I quit wearing it for the last 5 yrs or so when I was with XW, and when I started wearing it again I was glad I decided to. I didn't wear it when married because I felt like wearing it was kinda of saying I was available or wanted to flirt. Don't know why -- guess I was just paranoid. I would definitely continue wearing if I ever got in another serious R.
