Sunday I got to sing with the choir, we had bad weather and they desperately needed an alto... so I said, sure I'll sightread!
As we rode home, I told the kids, okay guys lets be in a really happy mood for daddy so he can see how good church is to us. Well, it was good for a few minutes, then the kids didn't do something and H was really upset and started yelling. sooooo, oh well.
THEN.... the weather got pretty bad so s9 didn't have school and H got off work. and H wants us all to go to the mall for xmas shopping. and the news is telling everyone to stay inside. well, this doesn't happen too often, so we all get ready and pile in. The bad thing is that we can't ever seem to have a nice time out as a family. it's always yelling at the kids or kids yelling at us. so then everyones in a bad mood. I forgot to mention that before we left, the power went out.... and when we got home it was STILL out. and we found out that 250K and more people were out as well and it might be a whole week before it's all back on. yikes! So we get our candles going and half the time it was good- when we weren't yelling at the kids. and at the end we all snuggled up to watch a movie on the new laptop. HEY, the laptop came in handy, whatdaya know!?! So that was something nice that we've never done before... so maybe we can make it a once a month thing.?. I hope H would like to.
AND luckily our power came back on... huge surprise though, cause our neighborhood is so far out and old. But there's still thousands of people out and I guess Bush called for an emergency thing, so that is good. Trees are down everywhere, and they're still falling actually. We've got a tree from our neighbor behind us that is a very old tree and large, and one of it's largest branches split and fell on our fence and into our yard. That's actually the second time it's happened. And so many trees in our neighborhood that are broken so much they are just going to have to cut them down. it's sad. My favorite, a weeping willow just a couple houses down looks really bad, and I'm hoping it will make it thru, but I can tell several branches are broken.
For other news, I really got involved in the house today, and totally cleaned s9 bathroom and painted it, and took the extra paint I made and painted the kitchen too. I think it looks pretty good. yeah for me! cept I've got a lot of cleanin up to do still. dang!
