Well, the necklace will be for her birthday, actually.
I imagine that she will soon broach the subject of gifts, and offer the old, "let's not get anything for each other for Christmas." And I am OK with that.
And yeah, Sara, the diamond cross was probably ill-advised. Regardless, I have no regrets. It was a very minor set-back.
