Mark.. man I miss Cali!!! Lived there (should I say stationed there) for 4 years. I LOVE SAN DIEGO!! Costs too damn much though.
I'd be a little concerned about the "hacking" hopefully they are not that good. It's very easy to "spoof" email and IP addresses, so be careful there.
Just an aside from my sitch, I worked amicably with my W.. she did not view it as amicable though. Amicable to them is "I want it all so I can be safe in my surroundings" My W never thought about the fact that while she was getting what she needed for the girls, she was taking from the girls here. That's the Alien part of it.
My advice is to be VERY well prepared. My folks are going to be giving me a book called "The bottom line". Supposedly it talks about all the financial aspects of Divorce. 401K's, taxes etc.
My W thinks she has me over a barrel, but in reality, she will be in some deep water. She will have to pay her own car insurance, health insurance, etc, etc.
Just worked it up with my L that our tax return (we will file jointly this year) will be applied to "marital debt".. I'm sure she's thinking she's getting a fat check to go blow.. Sorry Hon..
Even funnier.. her mom does our taxes and ALWAYS works the numbers. SO.. MIL will cook the numbers to max our return only to be used for bills. HA HA!!
That's the line between amicable and self preservation. It helps us both out, but she won't see it that way. Bottom line will be less for her to be accountable for. All she will see is me being mean and nasty.
If they don't agree.. money will sit earning interest till they pull their heads out of their rears. Works for me!!
Mark, your head is exactly the place it needs to be. Good for you! Take some comfort from the fact that you are the sane one here - while she is wildly confused, and focuses her energies on lies and deceptions and stupidity. "Live above it" - what a terrific motto for you right now.

Thanks Rob. I know that I'm moving in the right direction.
Journal -
As most of you know, I flew home from LAX today. Funny.... the warm, glowing orb in the sky that seemed to follow me around in SoCal was missing when I landed in Ohio. And there was a crunchy, white substance on the ground... I am now wondering why Sally left SoCal....
On the plane ride home, I sat next to a woman who went to the same high school I attended (kinda small, Catholic school). She was waaaay younger (um...19). Nevertheless, it was nice to have somebody to talk to that I had something in common with. It made the time go fast. Also, I got her phone number.... OK, OK, just kidding!!
Wife was distant and cold when I returned. Kids were not, though.
Jar, I sent you an email...may need some help with something... Hope you can oblige.
wow, wonder how wifey would feel about that one, mark...you squiring a 19 year old hottie around town someday. lol. (like my use of old fashioned language? threw that in there for you, big guy).
glad the kids were excited to see you. your wife thinks she is sooo smart, doesn't she? idiot.
yeah, I now wonder why I left CA, too. at the time it seemed clear...70 and sunny gets booooring after a while. if you've been to santa barbara, you know how beautiful it is. but I don't know a single person I grew up with who also didn't complain (at the time) about how boooooring it was. now so many of us have moved away and are going, huh, wtf were we thinking? lol. and now it is way too freaking expensive to live. I have a few close friends who are still there...think its time to plan a visit SOON.

Yeah, Sally, thanks for making me feel old... Can't a guy use the "right" word once in a while???? Sheesh ... OK, from now on, I will pepper my posts with "whatever" and "like," just so I can fit in with the cool people. Except I just used the word "pepper" so that kinda cancels everything out...

While I was there, I went out for a run (from my hotel to the beach!!). On the way back, I saw a house for sale. I stopped to grab a flyer from the sign. When I got back to the hotel, I looked at the paper: 3BR 2BA, .15 acre lot on a very busy street. $700,000. It would sell for about a buck and a quarter around here (and I live in a "premium" school district).

It gets worse (or better, depending on your perspective). When I returned, I told her about another trip that I need to take. Long story, but she immediately implied that I was going on a "pleasure" trip, rather than business.
I am wondering when she will just leave me alone. It seems like she is clinging to me. If she wants the divorce as badly as she says, you would think she would be OK (if not pleased ) that I am going out on my own.
why the heck would she think it was pleasure.. shes got some warped sense of reality and why does she care??? You would think she would be happy, but these spouses are not normal anyway.

Happiness can be found, even in the darkest of times, if one only remembers to turn on the light.
The phrase I believe you need is "Am I bovvered?" when your W says something to you. Do you know who Katherine Tate is? Or is this just more moronic Brit stuff?
Oh yeah, and you are Sooooooooooo.........old - sheesh - same age as me!!!!! I got myself a toyboy - it's keeping them that's the problem!!!!!!!!!
