Apparently I snubbed his PA - which I didn't; just as we said hello to each other we got called through to dine. Secondly I apparently tols someone I felt uncomfortable with him having a PA that was in regular contact with OW. Now that I believe was true but was not said vindictively.
Considering how doped up I was on gin and valium she was lucky I didn't come out with a lot owrse. If H is so blinking worried about what I am going to say at these things he shouldn't insist I go and he shouldn't ply me with alcohol to get me there.
He keeps saying to me that no-one at his work ever talks about it anymore but it is ALL they seem to want to talk about to me when he is not by my side. How can I get him to see that - he just doesn't believe me.

I agree with you whole-heartedly going to something like this drunk is an invitation to say the wrong thing to somebody. And I am shocked at their lack of manners, to bring up such an unpleasant and outdated topic. Personally, I would have been tempted to answer their question with a question, such as, "Why are you talking about this to me now, but didn't say a word when it was going on?" Chris might not have liked that any better. Or, "well, do you know who your husband is sleeping with?" For them to bring this topic up with you is beyond rude it is cruel.
