One of the many things we talked about last night (see Heaven post) was a more philosophical discussion about pornography, men, and attitudes about sex. One thing I told him was that it was a bit of a leap that men viewed sex as intimacy considering the prevalence of porn and the sometimes degrading forms it takes, as well as the cultural message that men are just out for sex. He assured me that the sex of porn was an entirely different kettle of fish from sex with one's loved one. However, he did understand the connundrum (one of his favorite words.)
