Faith in God is one thing, but He does not require us to suffer. He sent His Son to show us that, did he not?

Where on earth did you get hold of that extraordinary view? God does not WILL suffering, but we are certainly required to suffer at times. Suffering, in the words of a great and compassionate theologian is the hammer blow of the chisel that tries to shape and perfect us.

Incidentally, there are many restored and restoring marriages here at the moment [I am counting up to 40]: IMO none of them would be restored without the loving kindness of their spouses, understanding that this condition is deep and spiritual. Do they stay restored. We often don't know because the posters usually leave, but Yellowrose and BND both come back, and are deeply happy with better marriages than before.

I have suffered, and am now pretty much beyond it? Would Ihave gone through it willingly? No, certainly not. Has it made me a better and stronger person, more compassionate to others, more understanding of my spouse. YES.

You have trod your path, and I am treading mine. While I deplore 'victimhood', which sometimes raises its ugly head here, I applaud those who decide to wait it out for their spouses, and I hope that whatever the outcome, it has been a profound and helpful experience for them.

It has been truly said that when God has lessons for us to learn he does not put us in a warm and comfortable classroom, but in an extreme situation. How we respond to the challenge is crucial Read posts by Butterflymom, or Grace, both relative newbies; see the changes in a new tomoro and Cinders [Hope you peeps don't mind me mentioning you] if you ever doubt that we don't learn and grow while waiting out this process.

I am not attacking you, or denying yor viewpoint, not am I a masochist. Just puting forward an alterantive view.

God bless you and keep you.
