So I guess I had to have the affirmation in a round about way, but I got it nonetheless.....

you are a very lucky man.
you may not get it in the future. So, try to hold onto that memory, that even when it doesnt neccessarily LOOK like you are having a positive effect on your wife... you may be.

(ie: dont give up, just because you "dont see any change".
just keep doing good things. 'cause that's what a husband should do anyway.)
