just wanting to get your opinions.

my H took s9 shopping and he txt if they could go to hooters to eat. I really hate that place. I don't want to be the same overreating anal person, but when I went there one time with H, trying to be open-minded, I felt really out of place, and disrespected as a woman. I really don't want my s9 being in that type of atmosphere seeing women with skimpy outfits on, and pictures of them everywhere you look.

ugh. I told him I didn't want to make the decision, didn't want to him to think I was overreacting and anal. but that I felt disrespected and out of place when I was there. He said "I'm sorry, he'll be ok." then text that the girl sat them in the back and not many people there.

that made me sad.

I think places like those are part of the reason a lot of men don't have the right kind of respect for women (of course the men clubs are way worse). and the fact that a lot of women are sleazy and give us a bad name doesn't help either.

just venting here.

alright. I'm forgetting about what happened. however, when my s9 came home he said, how come you don't want me to go eat there, it's not that bad.

I'm like, great...he talked to him about me not wanting him there... then he even said, are you jealous? I'm like, jealous of who, he said 'the girls?' um. no.

now I'm curious what in the world H told him.

I did txt H during the first convo, just don't take him there again, and he txt ok.

so at least it's not something I need to deal with in the future.

It's not like it's a horrible place, it's just the fact that boys don't need to witness girls utilizing their bodies in that way.

It really kind of disgusts me seeing girls dress up to "please" men. We should be dressing up to please our Husbands if and when we marry. I guess I could admit that prior to getting married, I would dress up to be attractive to guys, but it just seems different. maybe it's cause I wasn't wearing shorts that showed my rear and shirts that showed my cleavage.

okay, maybe I don't have cleavage, ;\) but anyways. you know what I mean! haha. and I guess maybe if I had a hot body I would flaunt it more... I really don't know.

okay, I'll quit now before I dig myself any deeper!

Thanks ST - it's the ONLY thng I have right now as still no "news/contact" from my wife in any way, shape or form!

on ruth, I haven't emailed her yet. Just been trying to play catch up for a while.

You WILL find her extremely helpful as she has been a stander for almost 5 years now AND Judy has a restored marriage - both VERY Godly ladies & true to Scripture as they LIVE their faith entirely

I think you emailed me the first aid for a wounded marriage and I think I liked it and emailed it to a friend of mine. I'll check and make sure though.

Great - and just let me know if you didn't receive it so I can send it again.

And I didn't know you've only been dancing less than a year! I thought this was a lifetime thing for you. that's cool.

Well, I have a few "unfair" advantages as I'm VERY athletic AND my late Mum was a dancer in her day (she danced for the troops in North Africa & Italy during WW2 as she was part of the Entertainment Unit)

I REALLY would have liked her to have seen me dance when she was still alive though \:\(

yes, I'd love to dance. not sure what kind though, because I really love hiphop, r&b to dance to. Plus, my back needs to be in pretty good shape for me to dance and do it without hurting myself. and everything is so darn expensive. I guess that's why I'm more focused on my MonaVie, so that we can afford to do things and not be so stressed with credit cards.

Perhaps if you can find dance studios in your area that will let you try out a class or two without actually paying so that you can see which style suits you?

I also note your concerns about the Ballroom & Latin American dancing with regards to how close the dancing is - yes, some of the dances are VERY close, so one has to be careful as you definitely do not want to disresepct your marriage OR your faith!!

I DID go work out last week, with much effort trying to get s3 to be okay in the nursery, but when I picked him up, he was happy and told me he'd let me do it again! And he even went to Sunday school the other day (he never saw me though- H drops them off at church since I have to practice in the morning and play for church) and he didn't cry so I'm sooooo glad about that.

So a goal for this week is to go work out again!

Did you acieve your goal? \:\)

Hey ST!

I can totally see why you were upset about the Hooters thing. I don't even care that much if my H goes there, but the one time I went and saw little kids in there it made my stomach turn. It was this kid's 10th birthday and the girls had him stand up on a bench (so he was looking straight down AT their cleavage) and sang happy birthday to him - then all squished up next to him and took photos. Eww. The kid is 10!!!

Anyway.. just venting / ranting along with you.

I'm glad he said they won't go there again. Probably good to just leave it at that, for now.

thanks Nikki. I remember you telling me that last year. ya, ewe.

and what sucks is we drove right by it tonight and s9 said, "ooh hooters!" I said, please don't say that again.

I guess guys just don't get it. My H would probably say, woohoo, he likes girls! or somethin like that.

Oh yuck - sorry ST!! Sounds like it's almost a "forbidden fruit," "S9 and Dad vs. Mom" thing in some ways now. No ideas how to work on that - probably ignore it since a reaction will just increase THEIR reaction.. but still, just venting as a friend, yuck.

Hey if you didn't see my thread yet - thanks for the rug idea!! It looks so good.

How are your fishies doing? Did any make it to adult-hood? (hope so!)
