But the spouse can? That is interesting. I am so confused. I keep getting all kinds of different advise. I am so not sure what to do. This is not what I wanted and I am stuck with it.

He is just getting worse and worse. When does this madness stop. I do not want to hurt him or screw him over but that is what he is pushing me to do.

If I have to file then how do I get over the guilt I will feel about the outcome. Hurting him.

I know, I feel the same way. I want the financial support from him that he should be providing while gone, but I don't want to file either since I know it'll ruin any chance of reconciling.

Don't let us here confuse you about the laws. Each state has their own so IL laws here won't match what you have in NY.

No I know that the laws are different. I have several options but I do not think I can trust him to give me the money.

I am so frustrated.

I do not need legal advise I just need help with making the decision on which way to go. I do not want to ruin any chances of reconciling.
