You are set! How fun for you and your family, congrats on the new neice or nephew.

I wanted to pass on a story I use every Thanksgiving and my kids and neices/nephews love it.

Before the prayer is said and with everyone gathererd around the food table, pass out 3 kernels of dried corn (you can get it at a feed store or whole foods store) to each child and 5 to each adult. Then tell the story of a group of pilgims who were starving to death the first winter on this continent.

They didn't know how to farm the land here yet and were ill prepared for the harsh winter. There was a small storage of harvested corn that had been confiscated from the indians and it was their only food source all winter. To make it last, each child was given three kernals and each adult was given 5 kernals. It was their only food for an entire day. Every day. All winter.

Then ask everyone to look at all the food they are about to eat. Ask them to give thanks in their hearts for the bounty and blessings they all have.

I tell this every year and everyone is eager to hear it like it was the first time.

You are a wonderful mother, and excellent teacher and a blessed child of God. Enjoy your bounty!
