Thanks, BM. Sad thing, I've written a variation of that advice to a few others here. What can I say, I'm a parent -- Do as I say, not as I do
Thanks for the biotch slap GD, Puddle, Sunny, and BM (and CVA for agreeing with everyone).
OT, Going to read a few of the general R books, not any of the save the marriage ones. Figure those will help me going forward and the only advice I can take from all of the save the marriage-type books is what everyone here says and I know. To paraphrase, back the effe off.
Going to focus on time management and using my planner more. I had sort of gotten in the habit of using it and have completely abandoned it. Anyone out there looking for a way to provide structure to your days, some sort of planning system (Franklin Covey or just a simple list) can be a godsend in getting you through the day. Checking things off provides a sense of accomplishment that you need when in the initial throes of what we're all going through.
Anyway, back to the wonderful world of InDesign. Blech.
Oh, almost forgot, W took Lauren to a later girl scout activity last night and brought her back around 8ish. As she was telling the girls goodbye, she blew a kiss at Lauren and then, not thinking, did the same to me, but caught herself about half-way through it. I just laughed and said you're welcome to blow one my way whenever you'd like. She laughed/snorted, said goodnight, and left. Anyway, doesn't mean anything, but I did get a giggle out of that. Of course, now I'm thinking, "Sigh, she used to do that all of the time." Ok, now back to InDesign.

Anyway, it seems to me we both have a lot in common. My speech patterns tend to make me repeat things often. I think it comes from lecturing students. You want to drive main points home, so you repeat them often. Those points show up on the final, so you tend to stress them (overly). However, we both need to know that lecturing only has it place when you are in the classroom! I do it sometimes to my W and she hates it. I am trying so hard to change that and a number of other things.
I would also add that you seem a bit obsessed with Wifey, her thoughts, actions etc. It is hard to let go after being married, having wonderful kids, and having a great life. The fact is, I think she has let go. Perhaps for you own sake, take up jigsaw puzzles or something. Ever thought of perhaps building a hot rod or motorocyle? Maybe get a PS3 and find some video game that makes you stay awake all night?
Anyway, WRT to planners. I use Outlook, Oracle Calendar, and an iPAQ PDA. The PDA I carry as it is my cell. It synchs with Outlook as does the web-based Oracle. Overall, the system works well for me but it is a technical challenge to intergrate. I like having all of my meetings, appointments, contacts, phone numbers, etc. synchronized in real-time.
Take care of yourself. I think most of all, trust your own judgement. Be true to thine own self. All these boards are is a place where you can get advice and some guidance. Ultimately, you know your sitch better than any of us.
Best, --Chris

Too much work. I'll be catching up on things over the weekend/holiday.
Nada going on vis a vis W anyway. Same same.
Though, I think there was some light flirtation with a new chick in the office (a Brit no less) yesterday -- girls and I went to a friends apt to watch the Redskins/hang out. Little eye contact. Low-grade touching. As I've mentioned before, my 'she's interested' radar is busted. Most likely just being friendly. It's a small office, but I've not had a chance to really talk to her much at all.
Anyways.
Happy DBing to all, and to all, a good night.
