I would take it down also, if you don't have one of you and the girls, just put one up of them. As far as giving her stuff to her, don't have any emotion behind it, you know she will be looking for that to play on.
The girls should be ok with the picture thing.. make sure its a new picture of them and just say you want one up of them that is recent.
