Ok, so I was ironing my clothes for work this a.m. and started thinking about how H and I ended up together and decided I was going to share my story w/ you all & journal it.

At 26 years of age, I had just been dumped by my fiance & boyfriend of 4 years. I had been a legal secretary since I was 18. I decided that was not what I wanted to do for the rest of my life and really didn't have any firm ties to keep me in WA State. I decided to join the Air Force.

So, at 26, I went through basic military training in San Antonio TX. H and I were in "brother & sister" flights. Of course, romance is the last thing on your mind at that point, so I thought nothing of any of the "boys" there. The first convo that H and I ever had was close the end of our 6 wks there and we were waiting in line to get our laundry. He said he was so busy, he hadn't had time to even take a sh*t and I said, well, yeah, I haven't shaved my legs the entire 6 wks we've been here. NICE \:\)

Anyway, so we both ended up in Monterey CA for training and became best, best friends. He was like a brother to me -- bugged the crap out of me half the time. We partied every weekend w/ a huge group of us and had a good old time. All of a sudden one night at the bar, I looked up and looked at H in his Wranglers & cowboy hat (and I must say that prior to this, any guy in Wranglers would NOT get a second look from me) and realized "Oh my gosh, I am madly in love w/ him." I truly had no idea up to that moment.

He insists I "planned" it the whole time and knew exactly what I was doing, however, like I said, I truly had no idea. We got married about a month later. Then, seriously, I got pregnant IMMEDIATELY. We decided I would get out of the AF so that we both wouldn't be active duty w/ a child.

Anyway, just thought I would share my love story with you all. During the whole D sitch, deep down I just knew that God had brought us together and that we were always meant to be together. Why in the world else would I have gone through basic training at 26????
