He wasn't doing so well. He's in terrible pain. I had to get the nurse to give him pain meds.
His IV was backed up and his arm was sore and swollen from that. I had her fix it and at one point I damn near came outta the chair I was sitting in and kicked her ass because she kept hurting him. I guess my daughter sensed I was about to snap and she came over and distracted me. So much for being the grown up, huh?
By the time we left, the kids were disturbed and I'd leaned over his bed and just prayed. He'd already started the kicking from the pain meds. I asked the nurse to please keep a close eye on him.
But I will say this: they put a long slice across his neck and I couldn't help but think about that old lady in "Beetlejuice". It just came out. I couldn't stop myself. My daughter like to have fell out in the floor and H laughed too. But only for a minute!
Amy I also had the same surgery. C5-C7 & plate in my neck. H will be up next day and leave hospital with in 2 days. Honest. The surgeons and what they can do is just unbelievalbe. Saying a pray for you & family.

I can't imagine going home less than 24 hours after they messed with my spine! Give me the heebie-jeebies! Though when my wife had our youngest we were home in about 7 hours. Quite a story , that day was....
