Car talk would have asked if the main belt is broken thus no power from the alternator. They would have suggested to use the bra and panties to make a temp belt until one could have been procured. That would have been a good joke and an interesting conversational come-back, but in reality no bra/panties would ever hold up turning an alternator and produce electricity.
I worked in a garage for 25+ years and experienced how much horsepower it takes to turn an alternator, how a slightly lose drive belt doesn't turn the alternator fast enough to recharge the battery.
I saw one shop's so called "bad battery pile" and found 25% of the batteries to be good, but the alternator not turning fast enough due to belt slippage.
Bras and panties?? Good for movies about WWII submarines and women on board, but not in real life auto repair.
Good thoughts for getting creative, No hill. I will admit to being too literal and too practical.
Then an intellectual discussion on the color of the underware and if it would match the automobile interior would begin. You have that right NHFS.
