James Nesbitt is the guy from cold feet. Do you want me to see if I can track down the other two series over here? They also did a one off special afterwards.

very nice of you, saffie. unfortunately the ones over there won't play on my dvd player here (different regions). I wonder why they didn't release them here? maybe will write bbcamerica and see if we can get it shown. I have a vague recollection of it being on a while ago, but I was too busy to watch it.

I have this huge crush on james nesbitt...thankfully his hair got better in cold feet. that first season or two I was a bit weirded out. I don't mind the receding hairline a la murphy's law, but I could not handle the brillo pad those first two seasons showed. it was just weird. lol.

any other shows I may not know about that might be good? I am finishing up with arrested development in the next week or so. there is nothing I watch on regular tv anymore. well, The Office (american version), but other than that, there really isn't anything that interests me. I'm doing a lot more reading at least. but still, nice to snuggle down and watch a show now and then, and netflix makes that sooo easy. I may finally give prime suspect a go. for some reason have never seen it, and have heard nothing but wonderful things about it.

Good morning morgan. Your version of hibernating is ok. Keeping warm in your house, snuggling with cute kids, reading, watching TV...those things are good. Hiding under your covers for days, countless hours wandering the house...those aren't so good. Nothing wrong with staying home when you feel like it. Especially when H has the kids, no better time to be alone (and not feel guilty about it!), and ponder, think, reflect.

Hope its a good day in morgan's world.

hey lwb!

yeah, my version of hibernating is good. those first weekend or 2 or 3 when greg left for good, I wandered a bit, hid a bit, but haven't since then. still, I need to balance even good hibernating with making sure I head out into the world, too. its so easy to hunker down during winter.

the kids had the day off of school on tuesday, so no therapy that day. I scheduled it for today instead and it was great. really good. she said I am doing really well...I think every time I feel sad, or frustrated, or angry, or anything, that its not a good thing. the reality is, it is good, and I'm doing better at recognizing my emotions. and she loves that I come here and write them out, journal them, talk them out with friends. its all good...letting that river flow. she really liked that I stopped myself with the box and put it away. that's big, to recognize that and be okay with letting it go and putting it away.

she even thought my thanksgiving plans were great.

anyway, I've felt like I have stopped on that path I was walking down and have been sitting on a log for a few days now. feel ready to stand up and keep going again.

He's in a modenisation of Jekyl and Hyde which is a series over here. I think we can get DVD's here that play on your systems now. I can check it out on amazon or next time I go shopping.

Let me know what you are reading. I belong to a reading group and I am always looking for suggestions. If you want any suggestions I have a massive list. Have you read "A Fine alance" by Rohinton Mistry. It is a wonderful book. The Kite rinner of Kabul is also good as is A Map of the world.
Just a few ideas.

In fact if you email me, my email is in my profile, I can give you a list of the books we have done over the last few years. Bel Canto by Anne Patchett was also very good.

How 'bout a long weekend visiting some fellow DB'ers out in Northern Cali?? Check out the Just for Fun forum.. we're planning a weekend in Sonoma on 12/8.

You could fly into Sacramento, Oakland, or San Francisco.. if you want to start looking at flights.. \:\)

thanks, saffie. I didn't realize he was in jekyll. jekyll was shown here but I missed it. wonder if they will replay it, or if its on One Demand? will have to check it out. bbcamerica used to be really good, but has been hit or miss for a few years when it comes to good stuff. for some reason they keep replaying a lot of benny hill, and are sparce with newer stuff. right now its a lot of hotel babylon and the like. I've heard robin hood is good, the guy certainly is cute, but haven't tried it yet.

I started the kite runner last spring, right before the bomb, and had to put it down. I just needed light stuff to see me thru the crap I was dealing with. i tend to read a lot of historical biographies, but my friend made me opt for true mind candy and started me on the outlander series. not my normal style of books, but I ended up reading them all, a really fun story and definitely good for escape. I read the Jane Austen Book Club after seeing the movie.

will e-mail you later, I'd love the list. am always looking for new books to read. have been reading too many self help ones lately.

nikki, I've thought about it, actually. but that's a long way to go for such a short amount of time, and things are pretty busy that time of year, so can't really go longer. but hey, if I change my mind or find a really, really good rate, ya never know!

I gotta list of lighter ones as well. Have you tried Angry Houswives eating Bon Bons which I think is by Lorna Landvik and her others are really good. i also like fannie flagg's books and Laurie Graham's books. - The future home makers of America was good along with most of her/his other books. Islar Dewar is very good aswell. her first novel - Keeping up with Magda is an absolute scream anf then there are the JJasper FForde Thursday next series which are pure flights of fantasy and really surreal and funny. the first one is called The Eyre Affair. I don't often laugh out loud at a book but that one made me. Even the names in it are hilarious.
