I got my father's height -- just average (though thickly thewed). My baby brother got his height from our mother's (five) brothers -- all of them are/were very tall, 6'2" to 6'7". My mother and most of her (six) sisters are in the 5'7" to 6' range.
There's some tall folk in my W's father's family too. My S's have always been in the 90-95 Percentile for height and look to be good sized when they're adults too.
Join the club on the "rear end" issues. My middle son has had a lot of issues since H has been gone. They were very, very close. In fact, today he got sent home from day care b/c he was hitting the teachers & running around calling everyone a-holes. I swear that is not a word I use. Don't know where he got it from. He has really, really good weeks & then follows w/ a really, really bad one.

We just had our D5's conference and I was very happy to hear that "if I didn't know it, I'd never know it"
If that makes sense. D5 is sooo smart. She actually tells the teachers whose house she's at that week.
God love her.
I did find out that W screwed up though.. she told both D's that they would make brownies today.. it's all the D's could talk about.
Guess what.. W messed with time and they didn't get to make brownies. That's where she doesn't get it.. it's the promises you break not the gifts you buy them or how much take them to do things. It's the promises you will never.. never forget.
You're right about the children thing. Right now, w/ recovering from my surgery, etc., I have felt like my parents are raising my boys b/c they've had to help out so much. I think it's time to start taking back my role now that I'm doing a lot better.
I've seen it a lot of times that w/ children "love is spelled t - i - m - e " and it's so true.
