Thank you Cinders for starting this thread, and to all for sharing your successes, and especially the longer durations of spouses being gone. Husband been gone and physically with OW 3 yrs, after being gone emotionally more than a year before, including affair with OW. I've been giving up hope lately. These posts certainly are welcomed and refreshing.
Yep...mine was gone nearly two years...but not sure how much OW was in the picture after the first 4 months...or if there were others...
But all of that is history...it is behind us...and we are now planning the anniversary trip we should have had for our 25th...it is going to be on our 28th and I am going crazy trying to find a place to go...
There is hope...even when you think there isn't...I felt that way many many times...
Thank you Cinders for this thread. And to all of you that have replied to this thread. I know for me it is very needed right now. Your stories are an insperation to us that are in the early stages of this.
I am having such a hard time staying positive right now. I believe in my M and in my H but it is so hard to believe sometimes that he will come back someday. Reading your sitches helps me see that it is possible.

Onceuponatime and Theotherhalf...you are very welcome. I needed this thread too...I needed to believe that there was hope for all of us.
I am thankful for all that have come over to talk about their restored marriages...they too had long and winding journeys.... some have stayed on to help us and to guide us along...THANK YOU.

I didn't go back to see if I had posted my success story on this one, but I will tell you that, once H is back from being deployed (we've been successfully piecing w/ him gone for a year -- I went over & visited once and it was wonderful) -- we will be renewing our wedding vows
