Yep... celebrating the nail-biter last night. I will not get a chance to watch much of the Bengals game. The football team I coach is in the playoffs, and I need to leave home at 2. Kick-off is at 4:00.
Well.... the wife suspects that I am cheating on her. Here is the evidence she has:
1. I am on my laptop a lot. - Actually, I am sending email, posting here, or doing work.
2. I asked her to take photos of me with the kids in Halloween costumes. - When she brought this up today, I resisted the urge to say, "If you have your way, I will become a father for four nights a month. I want as many mementos of the kids as I can get my hands on
3. I took photos of myself... yes, I was fully clothed!!! I was in my costume for a Halloween party I attended. - I took the photos to show a friend. I could have told her this, but I figured that the more effort I put into justifying it or explaining it, the more it would appear that I am trying to cover things up. I just smiled, shook my head, and resumed washing the pots & pans.
Now, she never came out and voiced her suspicions. She just mentioned this stuff and said, "I'm not stupid!"
I know there is a school of thought that says it is a positive sign that she is concerned about me cheating on her. Not sure I buy into that, at least in my situation. If anything, for her it's a sign that we are truly finished as a married couple.
