Hi all!
Well, back from my weekend in Manhattan. Got to have a nice long slightly boozy lunch (okay, we're lightweights - two glasses of wine is boozy) with MarchHare. We had a great time - I knew I'd like her when she showed up with a book in her hand - I never go anywhere without a book to read in my "downtime"! She confirmed my impression that the average IQ here on the board is WAY above average, and for all you guys out there - she's got great legs! And the figure to go with it. Can't imagine what her alien spouse is thinking!

Anyway, it was great to meet one of my "imaginary" friends.

I wish I could meet some of you! Anybody in St. Louis?

Anyway, you're sounding good, Ellie. Glad you and MarchHare had fun. And as always, thanks for your 2 x 4s on my thread.

Ellie

Thanks, for visiting my thread. I am hoping that I can move forward now and what happens, happens. I am not quite ready to date. I think I need to just enjoy myself and find me again.

I did feel good about leaving that message on XH cell about wishing him the best and letting him go. I did say that I would now move on and start dating myself. I left it at that. Of course....I got 2 phone calls this am here at work. Not sure about anything anymore..........

Ellie,

Finally saw Blue Crush. Have decided I must learn to surf. In fact, the sooner the better. In fact a trip to Mexico to learn to surf and learn spanish is sounding real good about now. In fact I have a friend who happens to direct such a school. Hmmmmm...chilly may be looking for some warm water in the very near future.

Yup, I need to surf. That will fulfill my life. My boy needs to grow up and learn to surf. Maybe Hawaii needs a middle school social studies teacher...

Ellie,

I continue to berate myself for not keeping up with your thread. But I am COMPELLED to post here and tell you that your advice all over this board KNOCKS MY SOCKS OFF!!!!

If you are not a counsellor or in some helping field I think you may well have missed your calling. You are SO insightful and SO perceptive! Kudos!

One of my H's surf buddies is the woman who runs Surf Diva - and they do surf schools here and in Mexico!
Aren't those surfer dudes cute, too?
If you come to San Diego we could loan you an old board. (Don't come to CA to teach, though - our school board just managed to drive my kids three best elementary school teachers into premature retirement - what a loss!).

Are you out of school yet? My kids get out tomorrow - I feel like I'm getting out of school because I don't have to get up at 5:45 AM anymore!

And SB - yes, as a family physician I have lots of experience advising others - it's taking my own advice I have trouble with!

Ellie,

I am so there! School was finished for me on the 6th. We don't go back til after Labor Day. I have a friend who runs a school in Mexico, does surfing lessons and excursions as well as a Spanish Language Immersion program. I like the idea of surf divas.

I have all my life, always been hung up on the surfer dudes. Remember that is a key component on my list: must read, must surf....

My H's current dream is to take 3 months sabbatical leave next year and go to South America to do a Spanish immersion course and surf (Peru, probably). The kids are all whining about it though! Gee, dad, do we HAVE to go spend our summer in a beautiful exotic beach location?

Poor kids!
