If it wasn't for dads like the dads on here, we would have even more kids in trouble. TAL, I am like you, nothing would keep me from my girls. I wouldn't even think about sacrificing myself for their happiness and safety. I never even 'bother' God with my needs anymore, I get their prayers in there and leave it at that.
jar, keep surprising her with kindness. It must be so hard to watch her do the things she is doing, and watch the girls hurting, but you are doing what you should be, protecting them, and standing by your wife. Good job.
