Good luck on your weight loss efforts. I am trying too--before the holidays! What kind of contest for motivation are you thinking about? A manicure? New outfit? A romantic weeend away?

Jak - ha, I'm the same way. A little stress and I snack like crazy... but add a little more and poof, I stop eating.

Hey I dunno if you're a protein shake kinda person, but if so I've had a lot of luck with these protein shakes:

You get to pick different flavor "additives" which is kinda nice, you can have different flavors every day.

I just noticed they're sold out though... so hopefully will be back in stock soon.

Anyway I can choke them down even in the times of my worst stress, and when I'm less stressed I can drink one and it really fills me up for quite awhile, so it's easier to resist the munchies.

I sure blew my good intentions today: went out to breakfast AND dinner! Tomorrow is another day! (I should get on my treadmill, but I am too full from dinner --LOL)
