Yeah I dunno what was up with that guy's expression... think he must have been talking. Too bad, he has a really cute smile.
On the texts - yeah, I was kicking myself wishing I had remember OT's much better response at the time. It did work out ok though, I think.
On to decor.. I originally thought yellow would look really awful with that green, but the more I look at it, the more I think it could work. I'm going for both soothing and uplifting. I can probably get both going, right?
Funny actually, I was just looking at a couple of paintings I have that were done by an artist friend of my mom's (who is really good - his stuff normally sells for $100s or $1000s but he gave me these). I LOVE these paintings - one's a carousel horse, and the other is a fish/coral reef scene. Neither one will fit in the room because it's SO limited on wall space, but I was noticing that both of them have some really beautiful yellows and greens - and some of the greens look a whole lot like the carpet in there! Now I'm considering taking a photo of the paintings over to Lowe's and looking for paint that matches (or ask them to color match for me). I'll use that Lowe's tip and get the $5 "trial" first and try it on one wall to make sure it works and won't be overwhelming. Thanks for that tip, much better than a whole gallon of paint if I end up not liking it!
Hey great idea on the bamboo shade! I'll look for something that can go over the blinds in there (do needs the blinds for light control). That leaves me a tiny bit more wall space too. I was originally going to do sheers over and on either side of the window, but that would take up what little wall space I did have.
I forgot to mention that I already planned to get more of those placemats for photo holders - funny you had the same thought! Great minds think alike, eh? There's also a table runner made out of the same stuff - I was thinking it might be cheaper to get that and cut the sizes I want (will have to experiment and see if they totally fall apart when cut).
Thanks for the feedback on the bathroom stuff! You know I kind of wondered that about the shells. Maybe I'll get mostly "traditional" type things (i.e. the trash can, Kleenex cover, etc.) but get a few of the cute Ocean ones too.
Does anyone happen to know a good source for relatively inexpensive throw pillows? I saw some I liked but was shocked at the price! $40 apiece for a couple of cylinder shaped pillows. The shams were even worse.. $40 and you still hafta fork out more for the pillows to go in them. Sheesh.
I also saw some kind of neat "string curtains" that I thought might work to conceal the closet area but not look so bulky. You'd still kinda see through them, but I think it might work (plus that way the closet would still be easy to use). Probably will get one panel and try it out.
Excited to keep working on it today!
Oh.. funny H related side note... he and the other guys got back at 8:00 this morning. His Mom has a cabin up in Tahoe and he took the key - I have NO idea why they didn't just stay there. Apparently they decided to do an "all nighter" instead. It was hilarious - they were all exhausted (and all REEKED of booze, not so pleased they were driving like that but nothing I can do now). Immediately the two guys crashed on the couch and H went to bed. I did ask briefly if they had fun and H replied "I mostly tried to sleep in the car." haha.. guess those things aren't as fun when you're 37 as 22.
