Replying to a few posts here....

Red Head Wife,

Your boys sound like little sweethearts ! I basically had twins only 2 years apart \:\) Nobody can ever question that they aren't IC's kids...he has the biggest blue eyes you'll ever see... that is until you see his girl's. They are so much like him, that I'm beginning to question if they are even mine \:D

She has developed into an artsy kid, and as the years went by, she would get so creative/expressive with her costumes. I am just having a moment of nostalgia here, so bear with me, as one mom to another. The time goes fast.

Journey,
Our oldest is the creative one, she was up and running at about 9 months and has not slowed down since. The youngest is the obsessive - compulsive one...everything has to be in order and she is soooo set on routines. I just want to keep them small and just as they are. I hear you on the nostalgia. As one mom to another..damn you Journey, now I'm almost in tears.

My middle kid looks like me. He doesn't like to be reminded of that for some reason, but since he's the only person I've ever met that looks like me, he's going to hear about it. When a girl likes him, for instance, I'll smile and say that that's only to be expected because of his good looks

Crazy Eddie,

LOL, I always say that when our girls do something good or sweet, that they get that from me. When they are unruly and rowdy...that ALWAYS get that from IC

I get the feeling that we live pretty close to each other. I get over 200 trick or treaters each year at my house. Last night I sat out on my porch and read "The Omnivore's Dilemma" while I handed out little pieces of processed corn syrup to the kiddies. It's an excellent book and would definitely be of interest to anyone who hunts for food. I definitely have a "live off the land" fantasy that has been pretty much limited to forcing my family to repeatedly eat various dishes made from stuff grown in my garden while in season. I think as far as I could go with raising/killing my own live protein source would be to stock a pond with fish.

Mojo,
If you form a triangle from Ann Arbor to Lansing to Jackson, you've pretty much framed in our stomping grounds. We are actually pretty close to the little town of Hell.

IC has that "live off the land" fantasy and for the most part does pretty well at it...as long as it's WILD animals. He had the big idea about 4 years ago that he was going to get a baby buffalo and raise it until it was big enough to...well you know. Mr. Tough Guy IC couldn't do it, so now he has a 1000 lb pet buffalo that follows him around the field like a little lost puppy
