A little town near us has a Halloween celebration in the town square. The fire fighter's set up shop in the park and all the local business pitch in and it just basically is a very safe and fun time for the kids.
I tell the girls to go up to their rooms and get their costumes on...I'm expecting Tinkerbell and a scarecrow to come back down. 1st one down is our little 2 year old scarecrow (cute as a button, hard to believe she'll be 3 in a week) And then...down comes our 5 year old - all decked out in her little camo fatigues, boots, the whole bit...she even has her own little bow & arrow ! I'm like.."Baby, I thought you were dressing up as Tinkerbell? You want to go as a hunter instead ?" She gets this sweet, little, innocent look on her face and says "Not just any hunter, I wanna go as daddy." I almost cried..I thought "awe how sweet, she's looking up to her dad and wants to be like him" And then she gets a sly grin on her face and starts mocking IC by limping towards the door - Yup, she is definitely IC's kid and God help us all becasue she's also got his odd sense of humor
