saffie,

A doctorate is for becoming a professor. Is that what you want?

Possibly inmyplace.

I made hide it well but I can have moments of brilliance!!!!

I just think I may be too old to go down this route. My CBT guy keeps telling me not to throw these things out because of age!!

Limbo,

I know Cambridge very well. My father was a lecturer at one of the colleges for a while and I lived around that area until I went to university. My H and his family still live around there. It's about the only city I could bear to live in.

I actually lived in Morecambe for a while - coldest place I have ever lived!!!!

Think you may come back some time? How close are your family to Cambridge. I know the surrounding villages pretty well.

saffie,

I certainly won't allow you to use age. Being north of 50, I pretty much assume I am older than everyone who comes here unless otherwise noted.

inmyplace,

I know I shouldn't use age as an excuse. I am just casting my net in lots of directions and seeing what I catch. I think that age doe have a bearing in some fields - my father was a mathmetician and he stopped part way through his higher qualifications because in maths age can have a bearing on ability. I am not tht way inclined and believe that experience will probably make up for the death of grey cells that has taken place so far, (in the areas I am interested in), but do wonder about my productive life after studying. Also do I want the pressure these things would involve me being under? I am exploring and have no answers yet.

Penny,

I'm fine thanks.

I have been keeping abreast of your thread. I am so sorry it has come to this!!!

I have not been riding this last week. My mare went menatl last week and scared the pants off me!! She was acting like a horse that is stabled 24/7 and fed too much so I have thrown her out to pasture full time, unrugged and cut back all other feed. We shall see what she is like tomorrow when I get on!!!

I hope you are ok. I couldn't believe your MIL's comments about forgiving your H his A!!!!!
