I think it's great that you were successful in getting her to change her behavior. My husband is also not an apologizer. He is the brainiac type and always did well on tests. So being wrong is something he doesn't like to be. The apology is not the most important thing. The change in behavior is. So if you have a nice way of pointing something out and getting the change, more power to you. I think you are exactly right that separated is easier for taking care of the kids.
