Hmm.
i see that line, to mean:

We have to feel grateful in receiving undeserved forgiveness, to really feel the depths of love for us.

But it also has an unstated prerequisite: We have to first actually acknowlege that we have done something WRONG, to be forgiven from.

sigh...
