Thank you for the reponses. For me, I feel the AD ( in my case, effexor) initially caused a small weight loss, but after several months, I found I was putting on weight way too easily. I don't think there's been any major change in my eating/exercise habits to account for this; it just seems like my body is not running as efficiently. During the past few weeks I have been tapering off the AD, so I'll see what happens.
Don't expect a rapid response to coming off regards weight loss - from what i understand it takes about a year to get your metabolism back to were it was pre AD's. You still need to watch your diet etc.
One other thing - on the MLC diet thread people were saying that exercise did not make them lose weight. Well when you get to a certain point you will be building up muscle and as that weighs more than fat you will stop 'losing' weight but you will be a far better shape and more healthy.

I feel I am just getting to a stage in life where my body cannot process carbohydrates as well, and I believe the AD does play a minor role in this. I am trying to find evidence to support this claim! Anyway, I made the decision to go off the Effexor, and I will see if this tips the scale, so to speak, in favor of losing weight. I am going to watch my carbs more diligently as well.
