Thanks for the heads up on the stains and the TV shows Puddle! Yeah, "Tell Me You Love Me" is depressing but so weird to see all that sex on mainstream TV is interesting at least for now.

I'm with you, CVA, "Tell Me You Love Me" was starting to bring me down, so I've not watched the last few episodes. Football's on anyway.

I'm happy to hear you're still hanging with the friends, even if W isn't. What do you mean by you said, "I'm not responsible for that?" Did you mean she chooses what she's going to do (in general) or you haven't put pressure on her to back off?

I was best man at their wedding and am close to both of them. They're both really smart (Ph.D's, she teaches at American, he's an analyst for a 3 letter gov agency) and I think she's always felt a little intellectually intimidated by them -- for absolutely no reason, I might add. Anyway, I think she sees them as MY friends. J wouldn't come out. Said he's pretty ticked at her for what she's done and didn't feel like pretending to be nice. Anyway, what I meant by the above is that we're not a couple. I don't answer or try to make excuses for her mistakes/feelings/whatever. She's made it quite clear over the last few months that's the way she wants it. So . . .

This is fascinating, how did you heat up the brazil nut? Did you use dry twigs/tinder to start a fire with it? That's effing cool.

Actually, when I get to my target weight, I'm considering rewarding myself with a vintage shirt. Sigh, too bad your friend's in Cali.

Yeah, I get this. Too bad, but nothing that's yours to worry about. It can be frustrating, though, since you're clearly the go-to guy to ask about W if she's not talking.

It was unbelievably cool. I think he heated it on the stove? with a lighter? (yeah, less cool with the tools, since you could start a fire with them anyway, but still). But putting it at the bottom with twigs and some kindling and blowing on it worked like a charm.

So you're rewarding yourself with a vintage shirt and a pound of beer? It's good to have goals. ;\) Yeah, too bad about the distance. I'm sure there are plenty of wonderful New England lasses who can appreciate your unique charms, though.

Take care.

Hey Heim,
Long time no talk. I've been looking at the boards, but haven't posted in a while. Looks like things are going well for you. Just a comment here...

I noticed there was some recent discussion on HBO series. Anyone watch Curb Your Enthusiasm this past Sunday?? In the episode, Larry's wife decides to leave him and much of the episode revolves around their common friends choosing Cheryl in the seperation. Thought this was very topical.

Hey, Dis! I was thinking about you the other day. Things going OK? I'll drop you an email in a day or two.

Funny about the splitting of friends. A shame it happens. Of course, if someone does that, maybe they weren't really friends after all.

Found out on Monday that my Mawmaw (Dad's mom) has decided to forego treatment on a variety of ailments (cancer, heart, and a few other items) to spend her remaining time at home. She's 96, so this isn't unexpected, but still stinks. Not sure how much time she has left. Torn between going down for a final visit or waiting for the funeral. Not sure what to do. W has offered her shoulder if I need to talk. I'd like to, but it feels awkward. Plus, this has brought to the fore for me how important I think family is and I'm not sure I can talk to her about this and keep my feelings about the breakup of our own nuclear family from spilling over.

Anyway, full day of work ahead. Need to make it a good one.

Sorry to hear that about your Mawmaw. Hope you have someone to talk to through this time. I can understand about not wanting it to be your W without bringing your own emotional marital baggage into it.

There's the kicker, I want it to be my W.

This sucks.

Seeing your grandmother again is much more important than going to her funeral. Go see her.

But you don't NEED it to be. I honestly think it'll be better if you find someone else to discuss it with (one of the reasons being what you pointed out about keeping your mouth shut about the separation). Do you have other family members you can talk to?

I'm sorry for your Mawmaw, Heim. I've lost all of my relatives over the last 7 yrs, and I strongly agree with OT -- go see her.

I agree w ot. My mom's sister just past. Luckily the whole fam had driven down to see her a month before. My daughter got to play w her. It was very nice. Evryone thought she had a few months left but she past 3 weeks later. She waited for her other daughter to come visit from MT and then died 2 days later. Its amazing how once you decide to quit in your mind how your body will quickly follow.

God Speed everybody. Broken
