I read the DB stuff differently from you - you're talking about going dark, not showing how much you care, but isn't that just 'more of the same'? ie, what she was complaining of in the first place, that you've not been there for her? The 180 for you is to act like you're her best friend, listen to everything without judging or trying to fix it, and without putting pressure on her to "pay" for your attention by having sex.
