While maybe not one of our better impulses, wanting to see the ex's eyes bug out when surrounded by a bevy of attractive women doesn't necessarily mean you aren't detached, just means you're human.

In my case I think it means both! Whether it's right or not, I need to explore this tunnel -- leave no stone unturned. I'm not dating any of them, so it's not exactly Homer in that respect, but it will make her curious and likely get her contemplating her choices -- maybe.

You're absolutely right about not overthinking it. Heck, it is the most logical and convenient place to go. W may likely see it as an obvious attempt to push her buttons, make her jealous, etc, even though that would be a side effect and not the initial intention of being there. If she does, oh well -- can't help what she thinks, perceives, etc.
