Please permit me to weigh in on the global warming debate.
We can all agree that, at some point in the past, the earth as a whole was significantly colder than it is now. We can also agree that, at some point in the past, the earth was significantly hotter than it is now. These facts are indisputable.
So who the heck are we to decide that the temperature of the earth right now is the ideal, perfect temperature? It smacks of human arrogance.
I am of the opinion that the earth gets cooler, and it gets warmer. Humans (or any other animal for that matter) are incapable of changing the earth's atmosphere.
I like it warmer anyway.... more days to lounge around Sara's pool...
BTW, glaciologically, "ice age" is often used to mean a period when ice sheets are present in the northern and southern hemispheres; by this definition we are still in an ice age (because the Greenland and Antarctic ice sheets still exist). Citation
