I'm just curious as to what the screening test for racism and superficiality is?

Basically the e-mail was written in conversational Ebonics or inner-city African-American vernacular and he didn't include a photo.

Actually the thought I just had was that I am kind of hooked into this relationship because GP is so confident that some woman would want to be his girlfriend that I am focusing more on the challenge than the prize. It's like I'm playing a video game where I accumulate gold stars at each level or something like that. Let's review some key points of his method:

1)Calls me almost every day and talks to me for a long time.

2)Offers positive reinforcement by saying things like "I think you are a strong woman."

3) Paints strong verbal images of wonderful rewards that will be mine when I reach higher relationship levels with him.

4) Pets me a lot when I am in his physical presence.

5) Makes comments and takes actions that reinforce the fact that I am smaller than him.

So, probably,it is the case that I am dating the Dog Whisperer (sigh).

Kind of like when you turn on the commentary track on a dvd movie. Before you just had the action-- the fight, the chase, the kiss, the cooking dinner-- with the commentary track on, you have the director TELLING you what you're seeing-- "We couldn't get the scrambled eggs to look right in this scene," "This is a hommage to the witches' scene in Macbeth," "In this scene the star was stoned out of his mind."

I need to rent that DVD..

I don't get much relational inspiration from this forum but there is no better dialog anywhere IMO.

Yeah-- THIS is what I'm talking about. Is this "a case of jam tomorrow but never any jam today"?

I was kind of wondering about that myself. However, I think it might be that GP is just real slow moving. Hyper is the last word you'd use to describe him. It's like I'd go over to NG's house and we'd both slam a Jolt cola and be bouncing off the sugar/caffeine high all night. I go over to GP's house and it's more like honey is being slowly poured over me.

I forgot to tell you guys I solved the "mystery" of "Why was Mojo asked out by two cool, sexy African-American musicians?" The reason was that I directly referenced the song Do Right Woman by Aretha Franklin in my profile and implied that I was looking for a Do Right Man.

Lyrics

Quote:
Do Right Woman

Take me to heart
And I'll always love you
And nobody can make me do wrong
Take me for granted
Leaving love unshown
Makes will power weak
And temptation strong

A woman's only human
You should understand
She's not just a plaything
She's flesh and blood
Just like her man

If you want a do right
All days woman
You've gotta be a do right
All night man

Yeah, yeah
They say that it's a man's world
But you can't prove that by me
And as long as we're together baby
Show some respect for me

If you want a do right
All days woman
You've gotta be a do right
All night man

Okay, I was listening to music on my computer, just killing time until my phone date with GP when it suddenly dawned on me that I am 42 years old and my last two sexual partners have been men who were musicians with two of the sexiest bands ever and they pretty much do it like they play it. I have also recently been pursued by a produced playwright, internationally galleried artist, a British author and an Ultra-liberal political activist who likes to "spank" brainy b*tches. I have achieved the zenith of my sexuality! The world is an orgasmic buffet of hot sex, intelligent conversation and romantic interludes just waiting for me and my plate. Yum! Yum! Yum!

If you have the time and inclination, you might enjoy a chick novel called Hll Towns by Anne Rivers Siddons. It's lightweight but quite engaging, and the central theme reminds me of your "case of jam tomorrow but no jam today." The setting of the book is lovely and captivating. There was so much talk of earthy food, walking, weather, old buildings, and yearning that I felt compelled to go out at 10 p.m. in search of yeast so I could bake several loaves crusty, homemade bread to eat with cheese, minestrone, and fresh strawberries.

When can I come over? Actually, I made beef and cabbage soup myself yesterday. I am finding that the hardest thing about being single for me, at least in my current situation - house I'm unloading, only dependent being seriously independent D16, is that I have nowhere to express my nesting instinct. My cow is going stir-crazy. I am pretty much compelled to bake a couple apple pies today so that I can bring one to GP. Also, I can't stop thinking about how much better his living room would look if it had a touch of red and a few plants. That man is in serious danger of a bovine invasion. Of course, it's half his fault because he says things like "Do you think you might like living somewhere like this?"

*cracks up* You've only just now noticed? 'Bout bloody time if you ask me. It comes from living on porridge for too long. Horrid stuff.
