LO, as long as it's not layered, it's not too hard to grow out. It's getting all those layers together that takes so long. Short in back, longer in front is good.
I too have gone from one extreme to the other. It keeps it interesting and the same for hair color. I am natural brunette, but I have gone totally blonde. H liked it either way. When I go drastic after a while of not changing up, H use to say he felt like he was ML to another woman!!Hey, OL- so become the OW!!!!
Most men like long hair, that's what I was told. If I don't care about my looks, I would go short. But I know I look better with long hair so I let it grow. Too bad I have dry hair so can never have nice smooth hair like some people.
ROOT, funny you mention mascara. I never wear that until after the bomb. Now I use it almost everytime when going out. But H said he likes me better with no or minimal makeup. May be that's just a lie so I won't be attractive, ha ha. I stay at home and that's when I get sloppy. I will have to make a point and doll up when I go to classes. (MBA, tons of very eligible men there, though most are married and I won't touch those, LOL)
There are a lot of great products for smoothing out hair. And for makeup, a natural look that enhances your beauty... and doesn't look "made up" is a great daily look. Too many at-home mom's adopt an "I don't have time" frump look, and after being a "single woman" for six months, I learned you never want to fall into that. My divorced friends look great every time they leave the house and always have their eyes open for men... and the men return those looks.
There is no arriving, ever. It is all a continual becoming.
Hope.. that's what I was talking about - the "Posh Spice" look but not that extreme. Most people (ok.. most women) say I look better in short hair and I think long hair becomes kind of a security blanket for me when I'm feeling insecure..
