Kevin has more on his plate than he can deal with. He is struggling to support just himself with his first job, he has some kind of digestive tract problem that causes him chronic pain, and he is still dealing with probation issues from an old drunk driving arrest. He does not need the responsibility of either a child or a wife and child. He will most likely crumble under the weight of it.
