My son had a funny phase at around 3yrs old. Seemed to have too much testosterone and be angry with the world the whole time!!!

It did pass but when it was happening it was pretty horrid. He had a complete arsenal of weapons - toy guns, bows and arrows, swords etc. You name it, he had it. This came as a shock after 2 girls. I had been one of those moms who said that I would never by my son toy weapons but after he started making them out of lego etc I gave up. I decided it was better to let him get it out of his system with toys rather than supressing it and him going for the real things when he got older.

I sort of used the same approach when he wanted nail varnish and headbands like his sisters when he was 2yrs old - better then than when he's 20!!!

Now he appears to be a fairly amiable, sporty, clever 12yr old. Only thing that really gets him cross is his 9yr old sister who manages to beat him up!!!Now she really is one tough cookie and a teen pregnancy in the making I fear!!!
