Because it did involve him telling the family including his wife's family about what she had done. So far at least his is a success story. They had actually filed for divorce where he let her know he was going for custody of their younger son as the okder daughter's were grown. Because he felt her behavior as an adulterer would be a bad influence on his/theor son. Anyways when things weren't working he rattled the cage big time. I think it gave his spouse who is as stubborn as they come in a severe mid life crisis a huge wake up call.
They are now in the process of reconciling and she is very remorseful.
I think maybe from a woman's side of being the one who is having an affair maybe they need to see the strong man come forward and lay down the law.
