It just seems to be such a common theme with most of our sitches, the avoidance of our S's. I just think that they are all in denial, some will actually snap out of it and make an effort to reconcile, whilst others are just too bloody stubborn and would rather live with regret than concede that they may have been wrong.
Your XH sounds like he falls in the category of "Stubborn B*stard"
I think in the long run, with time, you will realise that this has been a positive outcome for you. It may not appear so now, but give it time.
