LW,
My birthday rolled around about 3 months after my husband left. I was feeling so down. The night before my b-day, my DD16 had to cheer at the basketball game. After the game I went to a friend's house and DD went to her friend's house with 2 other friends. I went home and and waited up for the DD. She called to let me know she was on her way home, so I went ahead and got in the bed because I was drained physically and emotionally. When she got home at midnight she said Mom, please come in here. Of course I thought something was wrong. I said what's wrong baby? She said please do this for me. I got up and walked into the kitchen and there she stood with three of her friends and a lit birthday cake. I just started crying and hugging them. How sweet that four teenage girls gave up their Friday night to stay home after the game and bake me a cake. It may not have been my happiest b-day, but it was certainly my sweetest. I will remember it the rest of my life. Kids are such a blessing and I thank God daily for mine.
